If you know my blog, you know how supportive I am of religious equality for all. That being said, just know that I am in no way attacking Islam.
But why did someone feel the need to make this? To prove some point that not all Muslim women are oppressed? If you are an open-minded, educated, person- you know this already. There is no need to make this extremely weak, flawed argument.
- In Ancient Egypt, Christianity hadn’t come around yet…So the idea of ‘the devil’ had not yet existed. And one can also counter that argument with the fact that Egypt had strong female figures like Cleopatra.
- In Rome, everyone ran around naked. It was just the norm in this period of history. People were fascinated by the beauty of the human body.
- In Greece, it was like Rome; people were interested about sex and the human body. It was just a very open time period. And since the beginning of time, in every part of the world, women have been used for sexual pleasure. That’s just the truth.
- The Babylonian fact is true; I’ll agree to that.
- Aphrodite? The goddess who represented love & beauty? Heard of her?
This just made me sad and slightly frustrated. There were many other ways you could have argued this.
Wow
